Serbska reja: traditionelle sorbische Folk Tänze und live Folk Musik

Dank Jazz haben wir Lindy Hop, aus Südamerika kennen wir Salsa und Tango! Aber bei den Sorben tanzte man schnelle Polka, verrückte Dreher und lustige Kreise. Das ist alles andere als Folklore: "Serbska reja" bringt diese Tänze und Tanzmusik wieder auf den Tanzboden mit einer geballten Ladung Folk (Nyckelharpa, Fiddle, Ocarina, Gitarre, Akkordeon, Tin Whistles, Kontrabass, Gesang) und inspiriert von traditioneller Tanzmusik aus der sorbischen Lausitz, Schweden, Polen, den USA und Frankreich.

Ab 19 Uhr gibt’s einen geselligen Einstiegs-Workshop mit Standard Folk Tänzen (Walzer, Schottisch etc.) und sorbischen Paar- und Kreistänzen. Danach können wir Kraft schöpfen beim Mitbringbuffet. Serbska reja: traditional Sorbian folk dances and live folk music

Jazzgaveus Lindyhop, South America gaveus Salsa and Tango! But the Sorbs danced fast Polka, crazy turning dances, funny circles and many more. That's anything but folklore:The project "Serbska reja" brings these dances and music back to the dance floor, with briliant acoustic folk (nyckelharpa, fiddle, ocarina, guitar, accordion, tin whistles, double base, voice) and inspired by traditional dance music from Sorbian Lusatia, Sweden, France, USA or Poland.

From 7pm there will be a beginners workshop with standard folk dances (walz, scottish etc.) and Sorbian dances. After that we can bring food and join together before the dance. Serbska Reja is a colorful group of friends based in Leipzig, Saxony, but originating from the Sorbian Lausitz region, Germany, Bulgaria and the United States. We organize dance workshops, dance evenings and jam sessions in Leipzig, Lusatia and wherever we’re invited. We play and teach unique Sorbian circle dances, polonaise and turning dances – as well as common folk dances like waltz, mazurka and schottische. No previous knowledge is necessary.
